Calling all Mad Dogs - Shack Summer Rates 2017/18

'Mad dogs and Englishmen' is a term that pops up when asked to consider a summer holiday in the Aussie outback. But on closer inspection, it's not such a bad thing. Not in Quorn. There's a great new outdoor swimming pool in the town, surrounded by river gums. There's air-conditioning and fans in the Shack. The beer is always icy and there are 3 pubs to choose from.

It's quiet, only locals going about their business and a few Europeans escaping their winter. The light is amazing, the best time to be awake is early in the morning, and the evenings cool down and designed for porch sitting to watch incredible sunsets and listen to the thrum of nature. The native gardens thrive in the heat, the figs are juicy.

If you are a photographer, filmmaker or nature lover, this is a great time to capture the deep colours of the outback light in summer solstice ( Dec 22) and of course, the animals don't stop.

The Shack is available this summer for great rates for those who want a comfortable place to explore the region in the cool hours. We wouldn't recommend camping in the heat, why would you do something so unpleasant when you can have the comforts of home?

Call us to get a good Shack rate this November and December, maybe en route to some of Australia's best unspoilt surfing at Yorkes or Eyre Peninsula... calling all Mad Dogs!
